The oldest and most profitable modern Dinner Theater is Barn Dinner Theater that was established in 1962. It enjoys amazing architecture and technical equipment that provide acting personnel with an opportunity to run successful shows for almost fifty years.
Speaking about the nature and features of Dinner Theater, one must admit that Dinner Theater resembles Community Theater in a great way. Nevertheless, this type of Modern Theater became much more culturally and financially advanced that Community Theater. There were a lot of Hollywood stars that succeeded in this field at the starting point of their career, including Dorothy Lamour, Don Ameche, Lana Turner, Jane Russel, etc.
The Dinner Theater is enjoying a real revival in NYC. Initially, Chauncey O'Neil who organized the first Dinner Theater was rather unsuccessful but within five years his first Dinner Theater obtained enormous success.
